Something more substantial….

Are you tired of fairy-floss Christianity and looking for something more substantial, more authentic? You might want to consider MetroWest Church, Brisbane. We take the Scriptures as our starting place. We are not fundamentalist, but we are Presbyterian and Evangelical, believing that God still speaks through his Word. It’s as we seek to understand the Scriptures in their original context that we can hear more clearly what God is saying, particularly as regards the work of Jesus, his Son.

And God’s Word, rightly understood, is what forms our worldview and challenges our life styles. For example, it’s not just that Jesus Christ died for you, but understanding how that death impacts your marriage, disturbs your selfishness, provides a context for suffering, models self sacrificing love, that makes the difference.

Our “worship” style is informal and modern, but seeks for a balance between good music and content. We are not into “Jesus, my boyfriend,” music. But we have a great team of musicians and we pick the best from what’s available. Whilst we are committed to the timeless truths of the message, we believe that we do our community a disservice if we do not seek to express these truths in the medium and language of our day.

We find the task of speaking to our generation tremendously challenging and we are always seeking new ways of connecting with the community.
