A Wonderful Start

Well our first service at Mt Ommaney is behind us and we have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback: “an exciting experience”, “the music was great”, “good teaching”, “warm and friendly welcome”, “congrats on the signage”…. Well, yes, it was a great start to this new venture, with an attendance of around 50 adults at both services, and 9 visitors who came in response either to the leaflet drop or to our webpage.

Problem solvers at work

The venue proved to be ideal with ample seating area and space for the kids to meet and play. The new speakers, screen and media player all worked well. We have submitted an offer to the school to have air-conditioning installed, as we see this as a high priority. Hopefully the banner for the fence along Dandenong Rd will be ready in the next day or two.

We have a further 2 500 leaflets to distribute, and some new home-owners in the area to visit, and so we will need help with this.

But we do praise God for a good beginning, and feel that he has been preparing the way before us….

It was a wonderful start to a new chapter in the history of MetroWest.

I don’t understand what “fairy-floss Christianity” is. I really like fairy floss – it is tasty, visually appealing, and healthy. Are you suggesting that your church is not appealing and not healthy?

  2. Ian Spence says:

Fairi-floss healthy? Each to his/her own…. It may be attractive for a while, but eventually it will loose its appeal. We don’t believe that “church” should leave people feeling empty, hence our motto, ‘for something more substantial’. Some people (not everyone) find that appealing.

I guess so… But fairy floss comes in a range of colours and flavours. Also, I don’t think that western society will ever get bored with sugar.
